How do you meet each moment? Do you find yourself rushed through life – that when you become aware of the moment it is gone before you realize it as you suddenly slip into thoughts about the past or future? Do you find yourself resisting the present? Unhappy with how things are and wishing for them to be different?
How can you relax into the moment?
One way is to accept where you are at this very moment in time. Acceptance will help you release your grip on life – releasing how you feel things should be and instead allowing the moment to be just as it is.
Another way is to breathe through the moment. If something is bothering, you or you are feeling frustrated or a range of emotions that is uncomfortable. Breathe through it. Realize it is temporary and let your breath guide you out of the discomfort.
Notice your surroundings – use your awareness of the details around you to pull you deeper into THIS moment. Is there anything you can take from this moment that is memorable.
Notice the tension in your body – see if you can soften and relax. If you are unable to let thoughts go that are floating around in your mind then try a guided meditation or a yoga-practice to distract yourself from your thoughts.
